Here’s a wolf searching for food here along the BC coast – it’s one that reminded me of a story from a while back. On one occasion whilst guiding a group of wildlife enthusiasts, deep in the bush away from humanity – no cars, roads, trails or wifi – I pointed out some wolf tracks left in the sand. The next morning one of the ladies of the group pulled me to one side and asked if that was really a wolf print I showed them or was I just pulling their leg or being nice to make them think there were wolves around. I assured her it was definitely a wolf print and asked were else could it have come from. “Oh, but it looked just a like a dog’s print!” she exclaimed. Mmmm, think about what you’ve just said I told her, smiling. She paused for a moment with a quizzical look on her face and then laughed, apologised and berated herself for coming out with such a crazy statement!
