Here we can see three young banded mongoose pups watching from the entrance to their home – a termite mound! During my visit to Tanzania I was told that mongoose are not adverse to taking over abandoned termite mounds as a home for a while and that was the case with this family here. Initially there had been an adult with these little critters, but it disappeared down the tunnel behind, leaving these guys to keep guard, whilst excitedly waiting for their chance to go outside.
