The edges of some Vancouver Island river systems are protected from collapse by quarried boulders and this in turn makes for a great fishing platform for local wildlife. Here we see a black bear taking advantage of some of the rocks whilst watching to see the start of the local salmon run. The bear didn’t have to wait or watch for long – the pink salmon run was well underway by this time and the bear soon joined them down in the water!
