I remember this location well – I had been fortunate to spend a week there, watching bears, brown and black coming and going feeding on the pink salmon which were running at a great rate at the time. The log which this bear is standing on was a regular pathway for the bears up and down the rocky hillside from the river. This little black bear had been going up the log when he suddenly had a change of mind, stopped briefly and did a U-turn to make his way back down again.
