Beaver Bow Wave

Here we see a shot of a beaver just as it pushes off for a swim on a BC lake – creating a nice bow wave as it does so. North American beavers are actually a little bit larger than their European cousins of the same name, but at some 40kgs lighter, come in a distant second to the South American Capybara for the crown of ‘largest rodent’ in the world. Regardless of their size, these masterful engineers have been considered the National Symbol of Canada since 1975 and are considered a creature of resourcefulness, that also mates for life.
