For obvious reasons, I hadn’t really paid much attention to this photo whenever I’ve browsed through my Tanzania files, but recently as I passed by this one I was suddenly taken in and surprised by what it portrays. I was simply blown away by the comparison in scale and size between the two crocodiles in the frame. The one in the foreground is no baby, but look at the big guy sleeping at the back. He is a really good example of the size these Nile crocodiles can reach, which can be up to six metres and 1,000kg plus. Just look at that back leg – it’s as thick as my body!
