You’d be forgiven if on first glance you thought this was a black bear, especially considering how dark and wet this grizzly bear’s coat is. But this splendid looking guy was paddling along a creek looking for salmon on the Alaska/British Columbia border when I spied him early one September morning. He looks like he’s had plenty of fish to be going on with and was merely out mopping up the scraps before heading off for hibernation, but before he does, he can never get enough at that time of year.
