There have been a couple of posts about bears meeting up before (see ‘Bears Meeting’ & ‘The Meeting’) but both of those posts have shown bears that are related to each other, these two guys are not siblings, but are two young bears that often hung out together. Here, the bear to the right has just come out of the water and met up with his buddy who was on the shore and even though they know each other pretty well, they still went through the same greeting routine of sniffing or ‘scenting’ each other around the muzzle and neck area. Shortly after greeting each other, on this occasion they wandered off along the shore in different directions, but quite often these two would play for a while before separating, see ‘Fighting Grizzlies’.
