…Bald eagle style! Not a springtime shot, but one I thought you’d like to see nonetheless. This immature bald eagle, whilst blending in so well with its background, had managed to catch itself a pink salmon, but seemed a little unsure as to what to do next. Now I’ve seen eagles and other raptors catch gulls and drag them to the water’s edge to drown them (Northern Goshawk) in this fashion, but if that was what this young eagle was trying to do with the fish, then it’d be fresh out of luck. Looking through the sequence of shots from this particular day, that does seem to be what it was trying to do and eventually ended up flying off empty handed, sorry taloned!
