Bear Buddies

Here we see a couple of good buddy bears that we’ve seen a few times – Junior and JJ. During their formative, sub-adult years these two bears, although not siblings were often seen hanging out together playing, wrestling, feeding and sleeping, (see fighting grizzlies). They weren’t constantly in each others pockets, but whenever they came across each other they’d just hang out for a day or two then wander off in different directions. Prior to this shot, Junior, on the left, had been sleeping and JJ came over to wake him up for a bit off playtime. A little mouthing and wrestling took place, but Junior was interested in more important things, eating! So that’s what they opted for instead. During my short visit last year, I did see both bears, but not together – now young adults they’ll be living completely different lives.
