Sometimes, you just happen to be in the right place, at the right time. I was stood on an old logging road bridge over a river here on the BC coast last fall, watching a grizzly bear feeding up stream. To my surprise, this great blue heron came flying along the profile of the river straight towards the bridge. I fully expected it to gain some lift and fly up and over us, but to my surprise it just kept going and flew under the bridge and out the other side, carrying on along the river to its next fishing spot. What a treat!
