Remember ‘Fast Asleep’ – the image of Big Momma taking a snooze on the rather uncomfortable looking root base of a fallen tree? Well here is the matriarchal grizzly bear once again, a few shots on from the first, after she’d ‘turned over’ in her sleep. She doesn’t look any more comfortable, in fact a little more precarious I would say, but nevertheless she carried on snoozing. I would guess though that she’s still subconsciously alert, her ears are proud – still working hard and in this new position, her nose, her best form of defence, can pick up anything coming up on to the grassy knoll from down in the estuary.
