Friday Flashback – Blue Water Bear

Today’s Friday Flashback is from July 21, 2014 and is entitled Blue Water Bear – a shot taken during a visit to SE Alaska whilst on passage to view a glacier that actually starts it’s journey to the sea in British Columbia, (see also ‘A Floating Rock‘).

Original text: “We spotted this young black bear adjacent to the glacier fed icy blue waters of Tracy Arm (SE Alaska) recently. He looked quite small to be out on his own, so may have been recently orphaned or weaned, but was clearly hungry – as we passed by we watched as he scratched and licked at the barnacles that were hugging the rocks revealed by the dropping tide.
