The Queen’s Stare

A little over a year ago I published the post ‘They Eyes Have It!’ explaining one of the key principles of wildlife photography but also telling how staring into the eyes of such a majestic animal can take you off into thought about what tales those eyes can tell. Well, here’s another such shot that immediately sets the mind off wondering. This is the Queen of the Khutzeymateen looking up from her afternoon tea, making sure nothing is coming to bother her. The intense stare and sharp ears clearly showing she is fully alert, keeping an eye out for other bears, and being late May, males hoping to get lucky.
