This stoic looking juvenile bald eagle perched on a stump in the middle of the river really does seem to have a ‘don’t mess with me’ look about it. As I’ve said before, juvenile eagles are a fair bit bigger than the adults of the species – this is down to the bone density and makeup whilst they are young and growing. But their size whilst young often seems to give them a sense of invincibility and they are often seen doing crazy things like trying to bully (See also ‘Young Bully’ from earlier this year) and harass the adults that are around either to steal food from them or to try and get them (in the case of their parents) to regurgitate or get some food for them.
