I was watching this bald eagle out hoping to do some fishing, when he suddenly swung around and dropped his legs and talons like the under carriage of an aircraft and came swooping in hoping to catch a fish. He quickly pulled his legs back up and picked up speed with a beat of his mighty wings – it was almost as if he had used his legs as some kind of air-brake to slow down his momentum and enable himself to turn. Passing us as if doing a fly-past, he dropped to the water grabbed himself a very small looking fish from the ocean and carried on his way. Seeing these guys in action like this is a thrill in itself and certainly a special treat.
