One of my most popular prints has been the photograph titled ‘Tree Hugger‘. Taken several years ago now, it features a young female grizzly bear looking out across a river here on the BC coast. She is framed either side by two alder trees and the tree she is ‘hugging’ is to the right of today’s featured shot, which was the next frame in the camera as we passed by. This image shows the young bear’s mom – known by those of us that work in the area, as Bella – sitting quite happily to the side whilst her daughter explores and watches the comings and goings in her new home environment.
