On a very choppy day back in mid-August I headed out in search for orca once again. Not long after leaving Campbell River here on the BC coast, we came across a small group of transient orca (aka Biggs Killer Whales) heading north along Discovery Passage. The large male in the group (T060C) made identifying them a little easier. Having been able to identify them, we soon learned they are rarely seen that far south with just one or two sightings in the last few years. For those of us who don’t get to spend too much time with the orca it was just great to see them, although our visit had to be cut a little short due to the wind and swell – just look at those white caps!
