Myra Falls

Myra Falls

Surrounded by Douglas-fir, western hemlock and red cedar amongst others, Myra creek on Vancouver Island plunges almost 70 metres down three tiers of basalt and limestone falls to meet Buttle Lake. These falls can be found in different states of flux depending on the time of year and weather conditions and on sunny days have almost inviting aqua-blue pools here at the mid-section. The falls are the result of earthquakes that caused breaks in the earths surface causing the land to drop resulting in these spectacular falls a little north of Campbell River.
