Sometimes you’ve just got to sleep where you fall! I’ve seen several grizzly bears sleeping precariously on logs and large boulders over the years and it always intrigues me and makes be smile and just wonder why they do it. This is a bear locally known as ‘JJ’ and being a young sub-adult bear he was often prone to doing things that made us smile (and wonder why). On this day we saw him from quite a way off sleeping on top of this log right in the middle of the Khutzeymateen estuary, so if we could see him, i guess when his eyes were open he could see pretty well across the estuary also, but when we saw him his eyes weren’t open very much!
