When it gets hot in the summer and you’ve got a big, albeit a summer fur coat on, you’ve got to cool off some how. Many grizzly bears will go and sit out the hottest parts of the day cooling off under a tree and will often take a snooze at the same time. But if the tide is out and you’re looking for clams, or if the deer flies are driving you nuts (see Under Attack!), a good way to cool off is to just leap into the water and take a swim. That’s what Junior did here – he suddenly came bursting along the shore and leapt in to the water as if something was chasing him, but all he wanted to do was cool off. He had a swim and splash around for a while and then wandered back up on to the shore and carried on eating.
