Although we had a lot of rain (see also Rainy Day at the Beach) in the Khutzeymateen last year, we also had some pretty spectacular sunrises and sunsets (see also Coastal Sunrise and The Year of the Khutz). This was the scene that greeted me around 0600 one morning back in July and it proved to be the start of a rare dry and spectacular day. The day warmed up pretty quick and by 1030 the temperature rise was being felt by the bears too – we even had this mum come in the water next to us to take a bath to cool down whilst her cub fed on shore, (below).
