I came across this adult male grizzly bear back in the summer looking as if he’s been caught eating in the bath tub. Here he is standing on his hind legs and is eating the last of the sedge available before the ever deepening tide takes it away from him for a few hours. This bear is quite a character and I’ve been photographing him since he was about 5 years old (see Swimming Grizzly) – but this year, now aged around 11, he’s really matured in to a fully fledged adult and was seen on occasion pushing his weight around with the smaller bears, but he still beat a quick retreat when the bigger guys came around, even those of a similar age.
