Another shot from my recent trip to Yellowstone – I came across this red fox making its way across a snow field one morning. It did not seem to concerned about the small group of photographers that were watching it excitedly as it came closer and closer, before it decided it was close enough and did a 90 degree left turn and headed down the bank and out on to the frozen valley floor below. Here in British Columbia, red foxes are becoming more and more prevalent. They are fairly common throughout eastern and central north America and in one or two primarily farming areas in eastern BC and Washington State, but they are now making their way farther west and even in to suburban areas also.
