Here is an early fall shot from a couple of years back. This female grizzly bear had just come up on to a riverbank after feeding on salmon down in a river here on the BC coast. She looks a little apprehensive, but this is because she is conducting a safety check before encouraging her two young cubs to join her up on the edge of the river. Once the cubs came up, the three of them moved off elsewhere, probably for a mid-afternoon siesta in the shade of some trees. She was a good mom and I saw her several times that fall and again the following spring when she still had her two cubs with her, but they had certainly grown by then.
