This large male grizzly stood up using this rock as a perch to see who was coming by in the boat he could hear. With him stood amongst the Indian Paintbrush like this, it almost looks as if he was out collecting flowers for his honey that he was sharing a secluded grassy knoll with and, as I said in the ‘Love is in the Air‘ post, seeing bears ‘hang out’ like couples in this way was pretty unusual.
