I don’t know what this female Bighorn Sheep (Ovis canadensis) had just said to her young lamb, maybe something about playing close to the road, but he certainly seems to be showing her what he thinks. This pair, accompanied by several other females with lambs were spotted alongside the road in Jasper National Park in Alberta late last summer. The lamb – probably born around May or early June time, would have had to take care from day one, as they are typically born away from the herd on a remote rocky cliff ledge were mom and lamb get to know each other before rejoining the other females a short while later.
