Here is another quick update from my current field trip. As well as black bears whilst at Anan Creek in SE Alaska last week, I also saw a number of grizzly (brown) bears in the area too. They tended to stay a little farther away from the main viewing area, but you could often see them up river playing or fishing. Here is a shot of a female grizzly attempting to catch some salmon – she was often quite successful, but on this occasion, you can see the fish took to the air to avoid her as she crashed into the water.
