This young American Marten (Martes americana), sometimes called a Pine Marten and his siblings provided a little interest and entertainment whilst waiting beside a river along the BC coast for some spirit bears to put in an appearance. They would come out and scurry around looking for scraps of salmon and would often move pretty quick. But this guy got a little inquisitive at the strange sights watching him from the river bank – three or four funny looking people with half-metre long, black clicking noses!
