Here’s another black bear shot from this summer. This mom and her cub were out looking for berries amongst the bushes along the river. It was amazing to watch, sometimes you’d just see the tops of the bushes sway from side to side, but you couldn’t see the bears beneath the broad leaves and if you weren’t watching or didn’t see the bushes move, you often wouldn’t even know the bears were there. On at least two occasions I turned around to just catch the tail end of a bear as it disappeared back in to the river or deeper in to the bush and I hadn’t heard a thing.
