Late spring 2011 and the now almost two and a half year old cub and his mother are the first grizzly bears I see this year. On this occasion, it was hard to imagine what was only weeks away for such a small bear. Out from their long winter sleep the cub and his mom set about searching for food on the estuary where they could find protein rich sedge and grass as well as small rock crabs and barnacles under the rocks.
