This is a grizzly bear mom with her newborn cub hiding amongst the grass behind. The cub was born in the early part of 2009, probably around January in his mom’s hibernation den. Here he is featured in early summer during one of his first days down on a BC estuary and from day one he was quite a character. Little did I know when I first saw him that I would get to see or know him so well or get to witness such a heart wrenching day, later in his life.
