Many people over the past couple of years have asked how could they join me on one of my photo trips and since we started these guided photo tours we’ve had some exceptional days photographing the grizzly bears of Knight Inlet (plus some superb marine photo-tours) and for 2016 we will be doing some more photo tours again.

For 9 June 2017 I have a trip organized into the spectacular Glendale River estuary in Knight Inlet.  This is a superb time of year to photograph grizzly bears on river estuaries.  Moms are out with their newborn cubs, spring flowers are in bloom and there can often be a large male or two looking around for any unattached females.

The boat is booked and all that remains is for you to claim your spot.  This is a guided photo tour, not just a bear watching tour, with plenty of room in which to work, but seats are limited.  Throughout the tour you will have my assistance, including any photographic advice, coaching, guidance, bear safety and any other relevant information should you need it.

Upon arrival at Glendale we’ll transfer to a flat bottomed skiff that will be our working platform for the photo-tour and will give us prime access to the bears whilst maintaining our safety and their comfort.

This tour is open to all levels of photographers with any form of camera equipment.

Included in this private, fully organised photo-tour will be boat transport from Telegraph Cove to & from Knight Inlet, picnic lunch, knowledgeable boat and guide staff and the assistance of a fully trained professional photographer & bear guide who has worked with the bears in this area since 2008.

What’s not included: Gratuities for boat staff.  Travel to/from Telegraph Cove and accommodation prior to or after your tour.  Personal equipment.

It is recommended that you wear comfortable and sturdy footwear and bring along good rain gear for both yourself and your equipment.  As well as video and camera equipment, you may wish to consider bringing along a good pair of binoculars.

The tour will depart from Telegraph Cove on Vancouver Island at approximately 6.00 am with a return around 4pm.  Come prepared – your photo-tour could begin as soon as we depart the dockside as a wide variety of wildlife can often be seen between Telegraph Cove and Glendale Cove and photographic opportunities abound.

The total cost for the trip after tax is just $320.  A small deposit of $99 is required at the time of booking to reserve your place on the tour and final payment will be due in April (an invoice will be forwarded by email). Or you can pay in full right now if you prefer. I will email you upon receipt of your payment(s) to personally confirm your reservation and any supplemental details.

Are you giving this tour to someone for a gift? Please let us know and we’ll send you an exclusive Steve Williamson Photography Photo tour gift card to present to the intended recipient as verification of their gift.

If you prefer not to use the Paypal payment options, please contact me to arrange alternative payment methods.
