As the snow starts to drop again a coyote makes his way along a sandstone ledge in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. Although he blends in extremely well with his environment, I managed to spot him as I walked back along the road after photographing his mate. Luckily, I was able to get ahead of him and position myself to catch him as he came around the ledge towards me. Not long after, his mate came racing round the corner to catch up with him – she had stayed down in the creek across the road a little longer, (see Snowy Creek Coyote in the Yellowstone Gallery).
