Today’s Friday Flashback is from September 20th 2012 – and features a spectacular golden river scene that I came across whilst out on the road that year and a warning of chilly nights ahead!
“Fall is coming fast in Northern British Columbia. A week ago as I jumped on a boat to explore the BC coast around the northern parts of the Great Bear Rainforest, signs of fall still looked to be far away, but upon my return inland late yesterday, I instantly noticed how much the trees had started to change. They are now a mixture of light greens, to yellows, to brilliant gold, especially when the sun shines through them. The plants along the road have changed too and some are now an array of pinks, bright reds and purples. It truly looks very special. As an added reminder fall is coming, the signs from the provincial park campgrounds have been removed and the gates locked and the temperature reading on my car in the pullout along the Skeena river, were I camped for the night last night, read zero degrees at 6am this morning!”
